What a year 2020 has been so far! We are experiencing challenges today that no mother or grandmother has ever experienced in their lifetime. To say that Covid-19 has turned our worlds upside down would be an understatement. However, for some of our employees, they are taking this time to really cherish the small things in life and focus on the positives in this current pandemic.

Young moms have had the chance to stay at home with their children; kicking butt and balancing their workload with their motherly duties. They’re around for those more precious moments that they may not have experienced while working in the office. Moms with empty nests are hearing more from their grown children via phone or Facetime, so no time is lost. While this pandemic has caused devastation, it has also helped us to appreciate the important things in our lives, like family.

Here at PowerChord, we encourage family time. We encourage a work-life balance. We encourage parents to log-off and spend time with their kids because we know how important these precious moments are. We want our teams to understand that family should always come first. So if they have to work funky hours, we get it. If we have a 9-month-old, 7-year-old, and 2-year-olds on our weekly calls, we get it (the more the merrier)! In light of Mother’s Day, we asked a few of our moms to share how PowerChord encourages and empowers them to be the best mom they can be, these are their responses:

"My PowerChord Family has supported me as a mom since day one. Even though my kids are grown, and live in Michigan, I am a part of their daily lives. Dealing with my daughter’s illness for the last couple of years has been very trying, especially traveling back and forth to Michigan. PowerChord continues to encourage and support me; always asking what they can do to help. There are not any words that can describe just how AWESOME that is! THANK YOU PowerChord Family for always being there for me.” - Merri Lollis

“I'm deeply grateful to work for a company like PowerChord that embraces "mommyhood". COVID-19 is difficult for many and I'm very fortunate to be able to balance work and family during these trying times - I enjoy the extra snuggles during lunch and breaks and it's important to make the most of these unique times in our world.” - Nikki Vegenski

"Mother's Day holds a special place in my heart for this little guy! For the past two years, I have worked at PowerChord where I have been given the opportunity to learn, work, and grow. As a Mom, the same principles often apply. PowerChord is no stranger to a working Mom & undoubtedly provides me with the ability to put a smile on his face (or bunny ears behind my head). Happy Mother's Day!" - Shanna Vick-Morris

“Being a parent is a chance to relive childhood. Play all the kid games, read all the kidbooks, and let your heart melt with family movie snuggle time.” - Rachel Neumann

“As a first-time mom learning how to adjust to your new little one is a challenge in itself, but returning to work after this transition can be intimidating and nerve-racking! I can't thank my PowerChord family, and especially fellow PC mamas enough, who made sure to make my adjustment as seamless as possible. From throwing me the most fantastic baby shower, caring messages and check-ins after Hank's birth, desk decorations upon my return, and (as always) an excellent work-life balance, have allowed me to thrive not only as a new mom but as a working mom. I am so thankful every day to work and learn from these amazing women at Powerchord who are also called mama.” - Erin Deren

To all the moms out there, keep it up! We know that this is not easy, and we hope you continue to be the Rockstars that we know you are. We wish you an enormous Happy Mother’s Day, from all of us here at PowerChord.
